AVOID PUMP SEIZURE

Do You Have A Seized Pump?

If you have a centrifugal pump that is seized, Boulden has a fast, easy and effective solution. Boulden supplies advanced composite materials and machined components which do not seize. At the time of repair, the stationary parts will be upgraded to a non-metallic composite wear ring or bushing and the rotating wear ring or sleeve will remain metal. This simple change eliminates the metal-to-metal contact points in the pump and essentially eliminates the risk of pump seizure.

What Causes A Centrifugal Pump To Seize?

A centrifugal pump can seize when there is excessive metal-to-metal contact at rotating to stationary interfaces like wear rings, center bushings, and throttle bushings. Pump seizure can cause a lot of damage and in some services create a significant safety or environmental hazard. In other situations, maybe the pump is jammed during alignment or the motor trips at start-up because of galling at the pump wear rings. Just a small piece of debris getting between metal wear rings can cause a pump seizure. Vespel® CR-6100 and Boulden B-Series wear parts do not seize and therefore assembly, alignment, and pump start-up are much easier and more reliable. Send us your project requirements today!

Which Process Condition Issues Do Composite Components Solve?

Boulden can supply components made from composite materials Vespel® CR-6100 or the Boulden B-Series materials depending on the size and process conditions. We can handle temperatures from cryogenic to 260 C (500 F) and nearly any process chemical. So, if you have a seized pump in almost any process from light hydrocarbons to boiler feed water or hydrofluoric acid, Boulden can solve all centrifugal pump seizure problems. If you can supply the dimensions of the parts and process conditions for the pump which is seized up, we can quickly provide a quote and material recommendation. We have material in stock and in-house machining capabilities to supply raw material or parts with the best delivery times in the industry.
